Top Tuesday

I was inspired by Katytastic.com to do a Top Ten Tuesday post. Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly post by The Broke and Bookish where they answer their top ten favorite things that fit into the category for that week. Instead of going along with their prompts, I've decided to make my own top ten list for the week! Hope you enjoy!

Top Ten Favorite Books (in no particular order)

1.) Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas: This entire series is amazing. It follows an assassin named Caelena Sardothien who has been sent to a slave camp. She is rescued when she is approached to compete in a competition to be the King's champion, otherwise known as his own personal assassin. If she accepts the offer to compete, she can earn her freedom back. It is a gripping story with lots of action, a strong female protagonist, and a great love triangle. I would highly recommend.

2.) Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell: I can't stop gushing about how much I love this book. I recently reread it and loved it even more the second time. Cath is just starting her freshman year of college and nothing is like how she imagined. She would much rather stay in and write fan fiction than go out and meet people. This follows Cath throughout her freshman year and shows how she grows out of her shell.

3.) Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins: Another adorable read. I read this book in a day because it was so fantastic. For her senior year of high school, Anna attends a school in France. It's there that she meets Etienne St. Clair. He's nice, charming, funny, and very flirty. It is so cute that it will make readers wanting their own St. Clair.

4.) The Infernal Devices Trilogy by Cassandra Clare: I liked this trilogy more than the Mortal Instruments series. Cassandra Clare takes the world of the Shadowhunters and sets it in London in the 1800s. This trilogy follows Tessa Gray who is a shapeshifter. In the first book, Clockwork Angel, Tessa is supposed to meet her brother when she is kidnapped by two women who force her to use her powers. She is later rescued by two shadowhunters, Jem Carstairs and the lovely William Herondale. This trilogy has sass, action, and a great love triangle.

5.) All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr: A heartbreaking story that when reading, you savor every word. This is a World War II story that follows two perspectives, a young German boy and a young, blind French girl. I don't want to give too much away about the plot because I think it's better to go in not knowing much. It's a long book but worth every second spent reading. I read this towards the beginning of the year and I'm still thinking about it today.

6.) Percy Jackson and the Olympians Series by Rick Riordan: Words cannot describe how much I love this series. I've been reading it since seventh grade and it is one of the series that made me love reading. I'm sure this is a series that most of my readers have read, or at least seen the [terrible] movie, so I'm not going to go into plot, but if you like a sassy main character, great adventure stories, and fantastic writing, pick up this series. Do it. Do it now.

7.) Just One Day by Gayle Forman: Gayle Forman is quickly becoming one of my favorite contemporary authors. This book in particular is fantastic. It follows a girl named Alison who spends one amazing day with a boy she meets on a school trip to Europe. After she travels back home to the states, she can't get this boy out of her head and she needs answers. We follow Alison for an entire year and get to see how she grows. It is a great story that deals with growing up and finding oneself.

8.) To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han: A cute contemporary following a high school girl named Lara Jean who, whenever she has a crush on a boy writes a letter explaining her feelings. She never mails those letters but one day she discovers that they have been mailed out. Now she has to face the aftermath.

9.) Cinder by Marissa Meyer: Cinderella with cyborgs. Need I say more?

10.) The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern: The circus comes unannounced. No one knows how long it will stay. The story is whimsical and enchanting with fantastic writing. This is another book that I really don't want to give anything away because I think it's best to go in not knowing much, that way you can experience the magic and mystery of the circus for yourself.

What are some of your top tens?
