This was a re-read for me and I loved it even more the second time. It follows a girl named Cath and her struggles through her freshman year of college. Cath has a twin sister named Wren and they have always done everything together. Wren is more outgoing while Cath likes to stay in and write Simon Snow fan fiction (it's like our version of Harry Potter). She doesn't know how to adjust to college life without her sister by her side. It is a great story of growing up, falling in love, and relying on family. Definitely pick this up if you want an adorable and heart-warming read.
**SPOILERS AHEAD**
I just want to reiterate how much I love this book. I feel like Cath and I are the same person. We are both very introverted and quiet. Cath struggles with finding herself in college and I feel like I have gone through some of the same experiences. I'm just about to finish my freshman year of college and I can definitely relate to Cath's experiences of trying to make friends, impressing professors, and trying to define herself from her sister.
My favorite character was Levi. He is so sweet and it was easy to tell how perfect he was for Cath. He is the perfect fictional boyfriend. (:
My favorite part, besides all of the parts with Levi, was probably when Wren and Cath made up after Wren got alcohol poisoning. It was such a great moment because throughout most of the book Cath was mad at her sister for basically making Cath fend for herself once college hit and because Wren was talking to their mom who abandoned them when they were eight years old. Cath felt betrayed by Wren and was very resentful. When they made up, it was such a great moment of growth for Cath. All of the anger she had built up since she got to college disappeared when her sister needed help.
Read this book! You won't regret it!
